Marbella and Puerto Banús are considered the jewels of the Costa del Sol, so there are many people that skip Málaga city and go directly to these places. Below I show you all the options available to get it:
A) Rent a Car.
There are several companies at the airport, so you can book in advance and drive the 50 km between Málaga Airport and Marbella. You need to take the A7 or AP7 (toll road), towards Cadiz-Algeciras, and the travel time is around 45 min.
B) Direct Bus.
The company Avanza offers connections to Marbella bus station from the airport. The only problem is the schedules that changes many times so please check in advance the schedule in the website.
If you are travelling during the peak season (July-August) you can easily get a bus from the airport because there are many of them (frecuency: 45 min.) but if you travel during low season there are only 3 options: 11:45, 19:45 and 22:30.
The good point is the price, it costs only 6,15€ or 8,20€ for the plus service (wifi, press).
If your final destination is Puerto Banus you need to take a taxi from the Marbella bus station to your accomodation. The price is around 10€ and it takes only 10-15 min.
C) Shuttle Bus.
Another good option if you are not in a hurry because you can share the transport with other people. There are many companies that offer this service, so please check on internet.
The price is around 15-25€ depends on the quality and if there is a door-to-door service or not.
The most expensive option but maybe the most confortable and fastest. You can choose between economy taxis and premium. The difference is the price and the vehicle (premium are Mercedes, Audi and BMW).
There are taxis outside the terminal and also you can arranged in advance the service with other companies.
The price per person is around 60€ for the economy service and 80-90€ for the premium.
