A show that triumphs in Europe.

The lights of the Malaga Botanical Garden are an adaptation of ‘Christmas Garden’, an international project that began in Royal Botanic Gardens-Kew in London.

Today can be enjoyed in 17 cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt and Paris and which has been redesigned taking into account the history of the garden.

The lights of the botanist arrived in Malaga for the first time last year receiving more than 100,000 visitors.

How long does the tour of the Christmas lights of the Botanical Garden Malaga?

The route is circular, approximately 2.2 kilometers long. It is made up of 2 million light points (LEDs) that illuminate the beautiful complex and transform one of the most beautiful and important tropical gardens in Spain into a magical ocean of splendor.

The tour of the lights of the botanical garden in Malaga takes 60-90 minutes for the complete tour, calmly, taking photos and enjoying the garden .

You can enjoy the Malaga Botanical Garden Christmas lights from December 1st, 2023 to January 7th, 2024.

The Malaga botanical light show has the following times:

  • Monday to Sunday: 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (7 access sections).
  • Closed on December 24th and 31st.

30 minute intervals have been established to control access. That is, you have half an hour to introduce yourself during your interval.

  • For example, if you have purchased a ticket for 7:30 p.m., you can show up at the access area between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A maximum of 400 people are allowed per shift to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

Tickets can be purchased online at the show website (recommended option) or at direct ticket sales.

Ticket prices vary depending on the day:

Friday to Sunday, holidays and the day before holidays, and special dates

  • General admission: €15.50.
  • Child Ticket: €11.50
    • Valid for children from 3 to 12 years old (children under 3 years old are free).
  • Reduced mobility ticket: €12.70
    • People with reduced mobility cannot do the full route.

Monday to Thursday, except holidays, the day before holidays and special dates

  • General admission: €13.50.
  • Child Ticket: €9.50
    • Valid for children from 3 to 12 years old (children under 3 years old are free).
  • Reduced mobility ticket: €11.10
    • People with reduced mobility cannot do the full route.

All tickets purchased via the web will add a management fee of €1.50.

Entry requirements and considerations.

  • Children under 16 years of age must enter accompanied by a responsible adult and must always be accompanied and supervised by adults.
  • Children up to 36 months have free admission.
  • Tickets can only be returned, and their price will be refunded, only if the event is canceled and/or rescheduled.

How to get to Malaga botanical garden?

The first thing will be to get to the Botanical Garden – Historical La Concepción, located at Camino del Jardín Botánico, 3, Málaga.

The car is usually the most common way to get to the Botanical Garden of Malaga. For other alternatives, a special bus has been set up, which will take us to the lights of the botanist.

The botanical garden car park is small and usually fills up quickly. Take a look for parking near the Centro Asistencial San Juan de Dios

There is another bus, line 2, which leaves us at the “Ciudad Jardín” stop, 10 minutes away walking from the garden. However, having the comfort of a bus that takes us directly to the door of the botanical garden, it is the option that we recommend.

Other considerations about the Christmas lights in the Malaga botanical garden.

  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the tour.
  • Drinks and food are not allowed inside the premises.
    • Inside there is a selection of Christmas specials with delicious food and drinks.
  • The Botanical Lights takes place in any weather condition, even when it rains.
    • Tickets cannot be returned in case of adverse weather conditions.
  • Dogs are allowed.
